Raymond Van Barneveld went straight out at the UK Open this weekend but barring that, fellow player,
Jerry Hendriks has been impressed with his comeback.
"I think it's great that with so much pressure on him he managed to claim a Tour Card. You heard so many people say in advance that it was not going to work and then he just does it anyway, that's great class. He remains a legend, especially for the Dutch,” said Hendriks to RTL 7.
Van Barneveld won a tournament at the Super Series immediately after obtaining his Tour Card, but at the UK Open he immediately went out against Alan Soutar.
"I don't think Raymond himself expected that he would win another tournament on the Pro Tour so soon. He got off to a bad start at the UK Open and partly due to the short format, he was unable to rectify that. "
