On Friday the UK Open starts in Minehead, England. Kim Huybrechts is 34th seed and starts the tournament in the third round.
Huybrechts has a draw for the first two rounds and will then meet his countryman Geert De Vos, Dutchman Luc Peters or Englishman Paul Marsh. "I quite like the UK Open," the 36-year-old Belgian told Het Nieuwsblad.
"The multi board room with six boards next to each other is not bad. Only sometimes it's hard that the audience is almost on the stage. Especially if you play against a local favourite, they can be very loud. And you can't move," says The Hurricane.
Terrible draw
But there is something that bothers Huybrechts even more. "What drives me crazy is the live draw. It really makes me nervous. I try not to watch it because my heart rate goes through the roof at that moment. Every new ball can come out of the bowl and you are constantly thinking: oh yes, I want to play against that one or oh no, I prefer not to play against that one. That is terrible."
