Michael Smith and Danny Noppert drop out of Players Championship 24

Danny Noppert, Michael Smith and Lewy Williams dropped out of the 24th Players Championship tournament on Friday. They did compete in Players Championship 22 and 23 the past two days, their spots being taken by Dom Taylor, Peter Jacques and David Evans.

A reason for the cancellations has not been given. However, it is likely that Noppert and Smith have chosen to take an extra day of rest ahead of the World Grand Prix. This major tournament is scheduled from Oct. 2 through Oct. 8 in Leicester.
