Fallon Sherrock will make her return to competitive action at the World Series of Darts Finals next month in Austria and after time away from the oche due to lockdown, she hopes it can go ahead.
Sherrock has been shielding for part of lockdown due to a kidney problem and has also been homeschooling her son Rory; as well as playing in the MODUS Icons of Darts League in a year which would have seen her travel to New York and during this time, Australia and New Zealand.
So as a result, it is not only about getting back onto the stage but getting out of the house as a whole and getting back into a routine.
"Playing online darts was totally different and I did find it tough trying to keep my concentration with everything going on. I had my child at home, so it was very tough for me all through lockdown but I'm hoping with all the practice I did and concentration I was doing it will pay off," said Sherrock to Sky Sports News.
"Fingers crossed that Austria does go ahead. It's the only thing I've got to look forward to at the moment so I'm just going to keep practising, think positive, and not think of it getting cancelled. I will just try and progress my game so I can compete at that level.
"I'm so excited just to get playing darts again because I've missed it, I've missed being out, I've missed playing on the stage. I'm not sure if there's going to be any crowds but I've missed all the support. I've missed everything. I'm looking forward to playing again and just getting out of the house."
"I hope to have everything that was planned for this year carried on to next year and all the competitions come back on," she concluded.
