Jeff Smith has been through some ordeal at times in the past 18 months since the Covid-19 pandemic began travelling from Canada to the UK and Europe through all the different restrictions.
All to make his life as a PDC Tour Card holder worth it and he believes life is starting to look up now.
"It's a lot of planes, trains and automobiles and the inside of hotel rooms and like I said, life is starting to get back to normal for us in Canada with the vaccines and whatnot. It's looking up, it's been tough but I'm glad I survived the ordeal," said Smith to the PDC.
"I haven't made probably five cents over the last year but I haven't lost so if I'm treading water and I'm breaking even and I remain in the PDC, I know times will get better."
Future aspirations
Looking ahead, his goals of making major tournaments and keeping his Tour Card are nearly secure so it's about looking up.
"Couple more qualifying events on the floor tournaments and I'm pretty handy towards being in the World Championship, Players Championship Finals. That's going to boost the bank account and see that I remain in the PDC for another year at least."
With Smith believing the best is firmly yet to come for him as a PDC professional.
"Not even close. It's coming and it's coming soon. I've been putting the time in on the board and the effort's going to show."
