Laura Turner competed at the PDC Women's Series finishing 12th overall and 17th in the last weekend of action in terms of the Order of Merit.
Turner joined the Darts Show podcast to not only put her punditry hat on but also her playing one as she spoke about her weekend in Barnsley.
"It was definitely a long weekend, I think I benefitted from the kids being on half term where I've managed to have a sneaky extra hour in bed this morning," said Turner to the Darts Show podcast.
"I'm lacking that consistency, I know the game is there but if you're going to want to start competing with the likes of that top eight what they have overall is that extra level of consistency and especially when you look at Fallon and Lisa and the level they're playing at."
Making most of opportunities and the gap between players
There has often been the discussion about the future ongoing of the Women's Series and making the most of the action as a result.
Matt Porter though came out last week and said that they were behind the women's game which alleviated some pressure.
"Sometimes you have that niggling back thought that this isn't made the most of and if you don't play well and show what you can do, the opportunity might get taken away from you. The fact that Matt Porter has come out and said we're really behind the women's game takes that little edge of pressure off."
But one main talking point was the dominance of Fallon Sherrock and Lisa Ashton and Turner puts it down to the hard work they put in and that is needed from other players to close the gap.
"If this side of the sport becomes more visible what will happen is that more women will play. I think the standard week on week is getting better, Fallon and Lisa the way they're playing you can see from the results they are a good 10 or 20 points off a lot of people's averages. It is a big gap, they have shown they are fallible as well.
"The gap will close but it's just up to the rest of the field to work harder to close that gap."
