Van Barneveld is convinced TOTO Dart Kings will be a success: 'We are only going to make each other stronger'

This week it was announced that as of today five top Dutch darts players will form a team, the TOTO Dart Kings. Raymond van Barneveld is already convinced that it will be a success.

Besides Van Barneveld, Michael van Gerwen, Danny Noppert, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Vincent van der Voort are also part of TOTO Dart Kings. "This has always been my dream to form a team with the other top Dutch players. You can learn from each other and only get better as a result. Moreover, it can also be a nice competition among each other, if one wins a big tournament, the other players will certainly get extra motivation from that," said Van Barneveld to BNR.

Logical step

For Van Barneveld, the creation of this team is a logical step. "Companies are often reluctant to invest in an individual athlete, because if something happens, they lose their investment. Investing in a team therefore offers many more possibilities. I am really convinced that this is going to be a great success."

Barney made his comeback at the PDC a year and a half ago. "I haven't regretted it for a second. I'm also completely different than I used to be and enjoy playing again," concludes the 55-year-old Dutchman.
