White discusses learning from Taylor: "I've got a lot of respect for him and took a lot of advice off him"

Ian White took part in an in-depth chat with Tungsten Tales this past week and discussed his fellow Stoke-on-Trent ace, Phil Taylor as part of it.

White who faced Taylor in the revival of the News of the World Finals spoke about his mental strength over him in that final; as well as taking advice off him.

"Phil Taylor gave me advice, John Part gave me advice. They're World Champions so whatever advice they give you, you have to take in because at the end of the day, they're World Champions and they are in the top elite of the world," said White to Tungsten Tales.

"I met Phil in the News of the World Finals, he'd written a book and he said to me and it's still in my head now, he said he'd jumped over Ian White, had a go at Ian White because he turned round and said that Ian White was so happy just to get to the final but Phil wanted to win it. That was the mental difference with Phil to me and he destroyed me."

"That stuck in my head and when we got together practising, he kept reminding me of the News of the World. I've got a lot of respect for him and took a lot of advice off him."
