Williams heads into debut season on PDC ProTour after Q-School triumph: "My confidence is sky high at the minute"

Lewy Williams is part of the new crop of PDC Tour Card holders who are set to make their debut tomorrow in the PDC Super Series.

Williams, 19, seriously impressed during the UK Open and secondary tours last year including a Challenge Tour final and a 117 average against Richie Burnett.

He produced some of that form en-route to his Tour Card at Q-School which as a result has seen his confidence sky rocket.

"It feels really good, happy to get my Tour Card and looking forward to the new season now," said Williams to DartsActueel.

"2020 was a great year. I did things I never expected to do. I think it was a very good year and it's put me in good stead for this year.

"My confidence is sky high at the minute so I'm really looking forward to this year."

Despite that, he still played on the fourth day at Q-School saying it was more of a case of further practice.

"It was just a bit more practice, it was good being relaxed on the board knowing I'd already secured my Tour Card."

In terms of his ambitions for the next two years on the tour, it is all about enjoying it but there are some goals, he would like to achieve.

"I think I'm just going to keep enjoying darts obviously but it'd be nice to kick on straight away and do some damage on the ProTour, try and get up the rankings as much as I can.

"Hopefully qualify for a few majors, like the World's, the Players Championship (Finals) so definitely going to give it a good go."
