Richard North last weekend took home the Super Regional Invaders title with him at the MAD Contender Series FInals.
North despite not being pleased with his display admitted that he was glad just to get out and play darts again.
"Obviously we've been at home for the past year or two with lockdown and yeah it was nice just to get out and meet a few friends and play some competitive darts again. Of course the averages won't say it was a great game but it was a bit of a battle so I'm happy to get the win," said North to Online Darts.
A former top 32 player, North is looking to take that into the Challenge Tour and push on from there to a potential PDC return.
"It's going to give me confidence, I know I've played terrible but I don't care because I've won the title and now I can push on from that."
"I think next year or the year after, I'll be back to hitting 100 averages and back to top 32 in the world where I once was. I can talk a good game but let's see if I can do it."
