Richard Ashdown announced his resignation from the BDO last week after six years of being the Master of Ceremonies and he has been joined by all but one of the referees/callers.

Anthony Dundas was the first to announce it on Thursday giving his thanks to the board, officials and players.
‘It was a tough decision, but on Tuesday I resigned my position as a BDO Referee. I thank the board, past and present, my fellow officials and all the players from the bottom of my heart. It’s been an amazing 7 years. Onwards and upwards though!‘
Marco Meijer followed him in announcing this on Friday morning also on Twitter:
‘Last Tuesday I made the decision as well! It was one of the hardest I’ve ever made’
‘After 7 1/2 years I’m not longer referee at BDO tournaments anymore! I want to thank all the players and the other officials for the past years, it was an amazing experience!’
Nick Rolls also made a statement about his intention also to leave saying that the decision by Richard Ashdown to step down played a part as did the direction that the BDO is going in.
Charlie Corstorphine has yet to state his intention so it is unknown whether he is staying or leaving the BDO.
