The BDO World Darts Championship will be moving venues after four decades it has been revealed leaving the prestigious Lakeside and moving to the Indigo at the O2 Arena in London.
This follows hot off the announcement that the World Masters will be moving to the Circus Tavern this year. As a result, this gives players more assurances as to where they will be playing in January 2020; after previous debacles with the BDO World Trophy.
Despite that though, it will be seen by many as the end of an era due to Lakeside hosting the event for 33 years. The Indigo has previously hosted darts events in the form of exhibition events hosted by Shownights; so it is well suited for the event. Also with transport links being easier should give fans easier access to the event.
Further announcements are expected soon in terms of ticket release dates; as well as other information on the tournament.
