Team England have taken the overall titles in the ladies and youth on the final day of action at the WDF World Cup in Cluj-Napoca in Romania.
England's ladies team in this year's
WDF World Cup which included four of the best players on the BDO Tour in Fallon Sherrock, Lorraine Winstanley, Maria O'Brien and Deta Hedman were the best in the singles, pairs and team tournaments despite only winning the Team title. They defeated Australia 9-4 in the final of that competition which was enough.
They had an overall total of 132 points with the silver and bronze going to Japan; who had Mikuru Suzuki star in the
singles and
pairs (100 points) and Australia (93 points) respectively.
The England Youth team; which featured Beau Greaves, Keelan Kay, Brad Phillips and Shannon Reeves were too strong with 229 points; compared to 178 points for the Czech Republic.
