Hogan reaches Quarter-Finals of BDO World Championship for third time after superb display against Kleermaker, Suzuki edges past Dobromyslova

Paul Hogan is through to the Quarter-Finals of the 2020 BDO World Championship reaching this stage for the first time since 2006 but for the third time in his career after defeating Martijn Kleermaker.

Hogan has been far and away one of the best players of the tournament so far and he proved that again against the Dutchman winning 4-1 with a 99 average. This saw him hit 43 percent on doubles, six 180s and a high checkout of 126.

'Crocodile Dundee' was exceptional to begin the match taking the opening set with a 101 average as he showed similar form to begin as in the second round.

Kleermaker hadn't found his top gear and Hogan doubled his advantage maintaining his average to go two sets away from the next round.

He finally found his range to take the third set winning it in a decider to keep himself in it. He failed to capitalise on opportunities presented to him and Hogan helped himself to set four to go one away from the finishing line.

It was a finishing line he reached winning 4-1, can 'Crocodile Dundee' rock his way to the title? After this performance, it could happen.

Speaking of the title, in the Ladies event Mikuru Suzuki is through to the semi-finals after beating Anastasia Dobromyslova to continue her title defence.

Despite a 2-0 victory, it was very close between the pair but it was just that little bit more on the doubles from 'The Miracle' (30%-25%) that proved the difference.

Both sets went 3-2 and it could have so easily have been a different story; but now it is the turn of Beau Greaves, a fellow stablemate in Nevada for the Japanese ace with it potentially being the tie to look out for in the semi-finals.
