With the
BDO World Darts Championship not taking place this month due to the organisation’s demise, DartsNews looks back at classic moments and matches throughout January from the showpiece event.
In 2017,
Glen Durrant began a three-year streak at the Lakeside. He escaped elimination against Paul Hogan in the second round but then defeated Darius Labanauskas (5-2) and Jamie Hughes (6-1) in the final.
He faced Danny Noppert who became the fourth Dutch Lakeside finalist after Raymond van Barneveld, Jelle Klaasen and Christian Kist before him but became the first not to lift the title.
