Veenstra after claiming second iteration of Remote Darts League: "I am delighted to win, my finishing was great'

Richard Veenstra claimed the second iteration of the Remote Darts League denying Paul Hogan who has now reached both finals in defeat in the online tournament.

Veenstra won 10-5 in the end on his debut in the Remote Darts League. He began with a break in the second leg to quickly take an early lead.

It remained close but a second break followed in the fourteenth leg with a 70 checkout which proved a catalyst; as Flyers then threw a 15-darter to take the title. He spoke afterwards to MC and Commentator, Richard Ashdown and said for him it was the doubles which was the difference.

"I started really well with a couple of 180's and I thought I need to keep Paul (Hogan) under pressure and maybe he will miss a double and yeah I am delighted to win. My finishing was great so I'm happy with it.

"I was telling myself every time, you have to get your own legs on the board. But Paul was easily winning his legs and I was struggling to get mine but that's the doubles in the end."
