Anderson eases past Van de Pas to set up Quarter-Final with Price at the Masters

Gary Anderson eases through to the Quarter-Final after a 10-4 victory over 'Big Ben' Benito van de Pas. It wasn't the best game for the Flying Scotsman but he still smashed Benito who barring a small spell at the end was never really at the races and now Anderson will play Gerwyn Price tomorrow.
He got to the final of this tournament last year and will be hoping to do better tomorrow and end the day with the first title of the year ahead of the Premier League and the beginning of the ProTour season next week.
Anderson hit a 90 average in the less than vintage performance but hit four 180's and this was enough to dispatch the Dutchman who had an 82 average and starts 2018 similar to how he ended 2017 and will be hoping he can put it right.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
