Artut made his last
European Tour appearance in 2016 and disappeared from the darts scene for a couple years following an injury. The German played at the Q-School this year, but failed to win a
PDC Tour Card. During the qualifier he beat compatriot Nico Schlund 6-0 in the final to secure a place for the European Darts Open. The four-time World Championship competitor will be joined by Fabian Herz, Michael Rosenauer and Nico Kurz.
Dutch duo Wesley Plaisier and Danny van Trijp came through the European Qualifier and will both make their European Tour debut. Van Trijp beat Michael Rasztovits in the final, while Plaisier defeated Jimmy Hendriks.
