Clayton secures Blackpool debut as Meulenkamp, West, King & Beaton edge closer to qualification

Yesterday Jonny Clayton secured his first European Tour title defeating Gerwyn Price in the final and now there are more benefits to come for the newest champion in the roll of honour.

He will make his debut at 2 major tournaments later this year, the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix and he could yet reach the top 16 before the end of the year.
For Clayton this continues a rise which saw him claim his first ever ranking title in the Players Championship series last year and reach a TV final at Minehead at the Players Championship Finals. This though could yet be a career defining moment for the Pontyberem ace.
Also close to qualification are the likes of Ron Meulenkamp, Steve West, Mervyn King and Steve Beaton; with the latter 3 previously competing at the Winter Gardens as the cut off comes closer.
