Daryl Gurney claimed victory last year at the Players Championship Finals but this time around he is not resting on his laurels and believes that heading into the event into champion means nothing.

Gurney spoke about winning the event and he said that despite winning the World Grand Prix, it is his greatest achievement in darts.
He called the bullseye that he hit to win as the scariest in his life but that when he hit it, it showed why he plays darts.
"Winning this event last year is probably my greatest achievement in darts," said Gurney.
"I said at the time it was probably the scariest bullseye I've ever hit in my life, but that feeling when it went in is why I play the game.
"Coming into this event as champion means nothing though and I know I will have to be on my game against Luke, who is an up and coming player I rate very highly."
