Andy Hamilton has received a wildcard to participate in the Finder Darts Masters. The organisation of the tournament in Egmond aan Zee personally handed out the wildcard to him on Thursday.

The Stoke-on-Trent ace has been a well-known name in darts for years. In 2012 he reached the PDC World Darts Championship final, where he lost 7-3 in sets to Adrian Lewis. In addition, Hamilton also became second at the Grand Slam of Darts, UK Open and US Open.
However, in 2016 and 2017 it went downhill with 'The Hammer', who reached thirteen major quarter-finals in 2012 and 2013. The 51-year-old lost his PDC Tour Card and moved to the BDO to find back his pleasure in darts.
With success, he worked his way up to the 27th position on the BDO ranking. On Wednesday, Hamilton put the crown on his season with qualification for the BDO World Championship. These performances have led to the decision from the organisation of the Finder Darts Masters to give 'The Hammer' one of the wildcards.
The Finder Darts Masters will be held from December 7-9 in Egmond aan Zee. Danny Noppert will not defend his title after moving to the PDC in January this year.
