Steve Lennon yesterday reached a final of a PDC senior event for the first time losing out to Michael van Gerwen at the Dutch Darts Masters in Zwolle.
The young Irishman spoke afterwards and admitted that he grew in confidence after being nervous at the start of the tournament. This was a tournament where he was handed a great opportunity through a bye after Rob Cross withdrew. In addition, Lennon also said that he had no shame in losing; and instead of being dejected for him he will use this performance as a springboard for the rest of the year. “I grew in confidence as the tournament went on,” said Lennon who will make his debut at the World Cup of Darts this year as well. “I was very nervous at the start of the tournament and I got a bit lucky. In addition, he spoke about losing to Van Gerwen: “I have no shame in losing to the best player on the planet and now I have to use this weekend’s performance as a springboard to bigger things this year.”
