'The Wizard' has had a fairly good return to form over the past few months reflected in a good run in the Premier League and while he hasn't won any titles this year, he is back into the top 8. This will serve as good news for Whitlock who will want to maintain his spot in the darting elite in preparation for next years' Premier League.
Steve Lennon had a great weekend in Zwolle and this was reflected in the updated Order of Merit. The young Irishman despite only being a tour card holder for little over a year is into the world's top 50.
This is great considering that his first final came yesterday and he is ahead of many established names including now Kevin Painter.
'The Artist' has not had a very good few years on the tour and his ranking is starting to fall away as a result. For the first time in his career that has included a major title he is out of worlds' top 50.
If his poor form can't be changed, he may be going to Q-School for the first time especially if new names such as Martin Schindler, Corey Cadby etc. find their way past him in the rankings. It will be interesting to see how the next few months pan out for the former World finalist.
