Mandigers first through to Quarter-Finals with win over Harms, Gulliver comes from behind to edge out Podgorska

Willem Mandigers is the first player through to the Quarter-Finals at Lakeside having seen off compatriot Wesley Harms and Trina Gulliver is through having come from behind to see off Karolina Podgorska.

Mandigers averaged 93 along the way and hit five 180’s in seeing off Harms in what was a brilliant win. This included a brilliant 132 checkout to go 3-2 up in sets which was the turning point. Gulliver came through a close one in her game against debutant Podgorska. Podgorska romped to the first set but as she started to fold, the ten time World Champion started to come back. As a result it went to a sudden death leg which Gulliver got the throw in and this allowed her to go on to win.
