Mensur Suljovic has been nominated for the Austrian version of Sports Personality of the Year 'Österreichs Sportler des Jahres 2017', a competition which dictates who is the best sportsman that year. He is involved in a 5 man shortlist which includes tennis star Dominic Thiem.
In the U.K. previously, the closest a dart player has ever got to winning it was Phil Taylor who has come second in the past. Suljovic being involved in this is a testament to how good of a year the Austrian has had with him growing in popularity all the time and also winning his first TV title last month at the Champions League in Cardiff.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media.
