SUMMARY: Michael van Gerwen reaches 100 career titles with double victory in Wigan

Michael van Gerwen won his very first title at the PDC on the Dutch stage in April 2006. Mighty Mike defeated Andy Jenkins, Andy Smith, Kevin Painter, Wayne Jones and Colin Osborne at the Holland Open.
Almost twelve years later Van Gerwen won his hundredth title. After the earlier victory on Friday, 'Mighty Mike' also won the second UK Open Qualifier on Saturday. It gave the 28-year-old Dutchman a jubilee. Only Phil Taylor managed to get at least one hundred PDC titles in the past.
In total, the number one in the world now has forty wins on the Pro Tour. In addition, Van Gerwen was twenty times the winner of Euro Tour tournaments and he has won forty television tournaments.

- I've always thought the top 24 should be made up of major winners and runners up then Euro tour followed by PC tour winners - if you don't have 24 after that then have some qualifiers.Thomas Moffatt03-11-2024
