Smith reels off five straight legs to defeat White and move through to Quarter-Finals

Michael Smith is through to the Quarter-Finals at the Masters after seeing off Ian White.
The pressure was firmly on ‘Bully Boy’ due to his World Championship exploits but he delivered. Smith went 5-5 all with White and from there it was plain sailing for the St Helens ace. He averaged 101 with four 180’s and 55% on the doubles. He will be one of the big favourites for the title as a result come tomorrow after a great performance. to check out the tournament centre for the Masters. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
