Michael van Gerwen will be aiming for another World title after what has been at times a poor season for the undisputed World Number One.

Despite that though he still goes into the PDC World Championship starting Thursday a heavy favourite. He admitted that as a result he will have pressure on him so it’s up to him to perform and prepare well as a result. "It feels amazing to win the World Championship title, you work so hard for it all year and it's a phenomenal moment of completion," said two-time World Champion Van Gerwen. "I've won two but I want to win more and to do that I have to make sure that I'm ready. I know I'll be a big favourite and there will be pressure on me, so I have to perform. "People always play better against me than other players, maybe because there's no pressure on them so I have to play well and make sure I prepare well." for more information about the PDC World Darts Championship, including schedules and the prize fund breakdown.
