Van Gerwen promises to knock Cross off top spot in Premier League: 'We will see how he handles the pressure'

Michael van Gerwen will take on Rob Cross tonight in a bumper top two Premier League clash.
Van Gerwen came out on top in Dublin and is confident of repeating the win. As well as that he promised to knock Cross off the top spot. He also said that he will put pressure on Cross to see how he handles it. "I will knock him off top spot, but I think it will be a cracking game," said Van Gerwen. "Rob is playing really good darts, he's one of the guys in form but I'm confident in my ability and I know what I can do. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
