Cross confident of defeating Van Gerwen in Cardiff: “He'll play his game, I'll play mine and I'll come out on top”

Rob Cross will take on Michael van Gerwen in a top of the table clash as the Premier League goes to Cardiff.
Cross spoke ahead of this tie and admitted he is a better player than when he won the World’s. As well as that he believes he will win if he plays his game against Mighty Mike. "I think I'm a better player than when I won the world and I'm really enjoying my darts at the moment," said Cross. "Michael is going to play well and do what he does, but it doesn't mean that you can't beat him in a one-off match or come on top over the duration of a season. "The plan is to go and enjoy it like I have done every week in this year's Premier League. If it is going to be done to English players, then we are more than entitled to dish the same back when players face off in England. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
