Van Gerwen was the first through smashing his way through Steve Lennon in a whitewash win over the young Irishman.
It was merciless from the World Number One as he hit a 106 average and 66 percent on the doubles. He also did what he often does and that is bounce back from a defeat with a world class performance which was case and point after losing to Daryl Gurney in Manchester on Thursday night.
Wade has been one of the most consistent players in darts at the moment and this continues with him navigating through a potentially tough test against Mervyn King with ease.
He won 6-2 against 'The King' and averaged as he so often does in the mid 90's. 'The Machine' in current form will definitely be up there come the end of the weekend.
Finally Suljovic saw off Raymond van Barneveld in a close tie which 'The Gentle' could have so easily have lost. He was 3-1 down and as a result potentially looking down the barrel at a defeat to the resurgent Dutchman but he kept his cool and closed out a 6-4 victory.
This was with three 180's and 60 percent on his doubles en route and after having one of the hardest draws of the second round, the Austrian will be relieved to claim the win especially in front of his home crowd.
