Simon Whitlock took advantage of a misfiring James Wade despite not being at his peak to see off the Machine and claim a spot in the Quarter-Finals of the World Matchplay.

Whitlock hit an average of 93.96 with 5 maximums overall despite his checkout rate being 28%.
His scoring was the key and Wade wasn’t reliable even on his favourite doubles such as D20 and D10.
For ‘The Wizard’ he is into his 3rd World Matchplay Quarter-Final since 2013 and he will face either Peter Wright or Kim Huybrechts who play later.
