Simon Whitlock missed match darts to avenge his World Grand Prix defeat to Daryl Gurney last night. He had to settle for a draw as a result which meant that it was a point for ‘The Wizard’ and a once again winless week for Gurney.
He spoke afterwards and admitted it was a strange game and was disappointing to claim a draw. Whitlock though has a poor record against Gurney and so for him as a result the draw isn’t that bad. “It was a strange game," admitted Whitlock, who now sits in fourth place on seven points. "Daryl got off to a good start, I came back at him and missed match darts, which is disappointing. "But to get a draw against Daryl is pretty good for me because of my record against him and a draw's not a bad result in the end."
