Simon Whitlock’s streak of losing to Michael van Gerwen was extended over the weekend but it shouldn’t of been the case with the Wizard 8-4 up at one point. Despite being pegged back and ultimately losing, Whitlock is taking positives from Melbourne.
For him despite being disappointed in losing the match, Whitlock still feels proud and confident after another good run. Also he spoke about title ambitions saying that if it comes together in Brisbane he can win the title. “I was disappointed not to win the match but I’m still feeling good and confident,” said Australia’s number one. “I am going to take the positives from the match against Michael. He’s the best player in the world and I had him in a really tough spot. Fair play to him for getting out of it. “I’ve beaten Rob Cross and Corey Cadby, who’ve both won titles this year, so it is a productive trip for me. “All that’s missing is it all coming together over one weekend. If that happens in Brisbane I can win the title without doubt.”
