Aspinall gracious in Premier League final defeat to Durrant: "I felt I had another gear, but credit to Glen"

Nathan Aspinall lost out in the Premier League final in a match of the debutants at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry against Glen Durrant.

Both Aspinall and Durrant made a major impression in their first year but for the Stockport ace, he fell just short of adding another title to his collection.

He spoke afterwards and admitted that while he was gutted to lose, he believes Durrant deserves the title in the end.

"Obviously, I'm absolutely mortified to lose," said Aspinall. "After beating the World Champion I felt I had another gear and that I was going to win the final, but credit to Glen.

"He came top of the Premier League, he's probably been the best player throughout the competition and he deserves to win it.

"It's still been a great debut year for me and I'll be back next year to go one better."
