Bunting peaks at right time against Ross Smith, Cullen also through to third round at European Darts Matchplay

Joe Cullen and Stephen Bunting qualified for the third round at the European Darts Matchplay late Saturday afternoon.
Cullen found himself trailing 1-2 against the tough Vitezslav Sedlak after a 110 finish from the Czech in the third leg. However, an 11-darter and a 97 finish shifted the lead to 'The Rockstar'.
A 13-darter put Cullen ahead by a break, then moments later he put a 109 finish and a 142 check-out to put a 6-3 final score on the scoreboard.
Bunting was too strong for Ross Smith after an exciting game. The first ten legs all went with the darts, after which Smith could start the last leg in the eleventh. However, the scoring faltered and 'Smudger' found only one treble in his first four innings. Bunting hit six scoring triples and clinched the victory with a 15-darter.

- Given how exciting this Grand Prix was, is there an argument that more top tournaments should have the double-start double-finish format? As a darts fan, I love to see lesser-known players excelling on the world stage and going deep into tournaments.
