Chisnall breezes past Bunting in whitewash win, Ratajski survives seven match darts against Clemens

Dave Chisnall will face James Wade in the second round of the 2022 Masters after producing a crushing whitewash win over Stephen Bunting in an all St Helens derby.

60% on the doubles with three 180's and a 92 average capped off a quality display over an out of sorts Bullet.

Chisnall was let off the hook on his throw to begin the tie and followed up with a superb 130 checkout to double his lead over Bunting in the all St Helens clash.

A double 12 checkout saw Chisnall go 3-0 up. A 180 and 82 checkout saw him go two away from the finishing line with another hold seeing him go further towards the finishing line.

A 76 checkout saw him do so as he went one away from a crushing win. Bunting had a chance for a first leg from 96 but missed the second double and ‘Chizzy’ returned for a 47 checkout to claim it.

While to start the evening session, Krzysztof Ratajski survived seven match darts from Gabriel Clemens as he snatched a dramatic 6-5 victory to open his account in Milton Keynes.

Clemens led 3-2 in the early going as Ratajski missed three darts at doubles to allow the German in.

But despite edging ahead, Clemens couldn't find his way over the winning line and four match darts went begging.

Three more went begging for Clemens as Ratajski found his way over the line and will now face Michael Smith.
