As one of the PDC's top players, Darren Webster is naturally in the race for a Premier League spot.
After being left out of the 2018 event, the Norwich ace is hopeful of inclusion in 2019. There are plenty of upcoming PDC majors to help the Demolition Man stake his claim. In a interview, Webster pointed out that he has work to do. "I can't wait for them to pick me, I have to make them put me there. That's what all the practice and hard work is for," he said. "At the moment, all I can do is throw my next three darts the best I can. If I can do that, I know I can go further. "If I can win the Grand Prix, I know I can get an invite!" Webster opens his Grand Prix campaign against Stephen Bunting in Dublin. He believes that a first major victory isn't far away - and it could arrive as soon as next week. "I'm practicing really well at the minute, every night. "If I'm going to kick on anywhere, it's with the double start. With my double tops, I'm quite confident, and the way I'm practicing you never know." On Bunting, who he beat in the first round of the 2017 World Championship, Webster acknowledged a recent upturn in form. That said, the Bullet does not worry him. "He's not been going through good times lately but his game's picked up. You never know what's going to happen on the night but I'm playing well," Webster said.
