De Zwaan went through tough times: 'Thought about ending my career'

Jeffrey de Zwaan lost his PDC Tour Card at the end of last year. At Q-School, however, he immediately recaptured it.

"What a huge relief," De Zwaan opens to Darts Actueel. "The first days at Q-School I had already racked up some points, but on the third day everything fell together and I took the day's win and thus the accompanying Tour Card. Q-School is always tough, but I went there with the confidence that I had been successful there in the past too."

Shoulder injury

De Zwaan had to deal with a shoulder injury in recent years. "I had a particularly difficult time mentally and even thought about quitting. I was in so much pain and then also lost particularly many matches, which was very difficult to deal with."

"However, for the past 13 weeks I have been on a course with a shoulder specialist in hospital," the 26-year-old Dutchman continued. "Recent measurements have shown that I only have six per cent instability left in my shoulder, which is already much better than before. I am also gradually feeling a lot better and my level is starting to come back."
