Four Germans in last 32 at World Darts Championship for first time

The many German fans at Alexandra Palace got their money's worth for the time being. No less than four German players managed to qualify for the third round at the World Darts Championship, and that never happened before.

The old record stood at only two German players in the third round of the World Darts Championship. This was done by Max Hopp and Nico Kurz during the 2020 edition. Two years later, Gabriel Clemens and Florian Hempel were allowed to return to Alexandra Palace after Christmas. Last year, Clemens and Martin Schindler made it to the last 32.

Clemens and Schindler have now again qualified for the third round, as has Hempel. The fourth German at the last 32 at the World Darts Championship is Ricardo Pietreczko, who is making his debut at this edition.
