Luke Littler was untouchable on Sunday night as he defeated Martin Lukeman who ended an incredible tournament holding his hands up to some display in a 16-3 defeat.
Lukeman spoke afterwards and was full of praise for Littler saying no mind Michael van Gerwen's records, he will break Phil Taylor's and said how also does this while eating a Boost chocolate bar, Curry and a meal deal.
"I've done well but that boy is different gravy. I was like come on Gary last round. He is brilliant him and his family. Come from council estates like myself. Look what he's making for himself. Got to take my hat off to him," said Lukeman.
"The boy's next level. I hit a ton, he goes 180. You hit 60, he's going to go 180. It's just like leave off mate. I hit that 32 and the whole place went ballistic. I was like that's better than a nine-darter."
But it is just a title that Lukeman wants. He also joked that he will go out in the groups next year now he has booked a Grand Slam return. "I'll be happy with a ProTour title. I just want a title.
"That's a bonus. One better and win it. Probably won't even get out of the group stages but you know next year's next year. I'll think about that when it comes."
He also joked that he hopes he can take the momentum onto Minehead and that Littler goes out early as he divulged his hope that Gary Anderson would've defeated him in the semi-finals. "I got what was it 70 grand on the rankings. I'm in next year guaranteed. I've got another week, got Players Championship Finals. Hopefully can take that momentum and Luke goes out early," he joked. "No I don't mean that, I'm only messing."
He was also asked about plans with the money and said his wife will find a way to spend it albeit with a trip already booked.
"I'm going Thailand in January yeah but I'm sure the wife will spend it. Tiffany or the Maldives. One or the other. She's a big part of it, shame I didn't get that photo but we will get it."

Littler will break MVG and Taylor's records

He also gave Littler the plaudits of in his view having the chance to break all records albeit with the caveat of if he keeps his head screwed on.
"If he gets his head on. Forget about Michael van Gerwen's records, he's going to beat Phil Taylor's records. If he keeps his head right and stays away from drink and girls, that boy is going to go very far. He'll break records ridiculously."
"He has a Boost, Meal Deal and a Curry, walks up there and just smashes me like that. 98% of the players down there are doing what they do. He's eating Squashies for his half time. I'm having a fag and a water. It's a joke."
