Damon Heta is known now as one of the fastest rising stars on the PDC circuit all coming after his 2019 Brisbane Darts Masters triumph as he stormed through the field to defeat Rob Cross in the final.
Since then, 'The Heat' has become a fully fledged member of the PDC Tour in his own right but his
World Series experience all started without much expectation.
He spoke on the latest episode of the Darts Museum podcast about that experience as the World Series takes another year of in terms of the Oceanic legs due to Covid-19.
"All three of us just went over to have a good time. Not too much expectation but at the same sense you wanted to win one for sure. I'm pretty sure I won the last day and it was against GG (Gordon Mathers) and the way I had to win it was ridiculous. The last two legs I think he might have missed match darts and I've gone double double on both legs," said Heta to Darts Museum podcast.
"He was gutted but me I was so stoked. I had to come up with names and a walk on song. I was just buzzing. But I felt like getting there was a big thing. So finally getting there and I was first out on stage against Chizzy, I was gone and I didn't know what was going on."
