Humphries reveals coaching from Nicholson: "Since we've been having coaching sessions, I've done what I've done"

Luke Humphries has had great success this year reaching multiple finals and will feel aggrieved not to have a maiden PDC title on his resume.

But for Humphries, a big chance has come which has helped his performances.

He admitted during the Hungarian Darts Trophy that he has took Paul Nicholson on board as a coach and since he has, it has paid dividends.

"Everyone has heard the story of Devon (Petersen) and Wayne Mardle, there's a little bit of a story between me and Paul Nicholson because we started doing this before the World Championship last year before I lost to Paul Lim," said Humphries to Online Darts.

"Since I've been speaking to him and since we've been having coaching sessions, I've done what I've done. Major finalist, four finals so sometimes coaching can help you and I think if I can pick up something really great this year, it would be a great success story between me and Paul because Devon and Wayne have had their thing where he's really picked Devon up."

"He's just changed his game and I think Paul's done the same for me, everyone know's Paul's a great guy but you know he has really helped me as a person on the dartboard. He's given me a lot of belief."
