"I need to play my A-game" - Noppert in good form heading into cracker against Price at World Grand Prix

Danny Noppert faces a tough task in the first round of the World Grand Prix on Monday night. 'The Freeze' will take on Gerwyn Price, winner of the tournament in 2020.

Two years earlier, in 2018, the two players also met in the first round. Then the victory went 2-0 to the Welshman. At that time, Price did not have one of his now 10 television titles to his name.

“Gerwyn is such a good player," Noppert previewed to the PDC. ''It’s a really tough draw and I need to play my A-game. I just want to perform well. I see every game step-by-step, and hopefully I will do well at the World Grand Prix, so I can make some steps towards the world’s top eight.”

Two years ago, Noppert achieved his best result at the World Grand Prix with a semi-final place. Last year, the darter from Joure lost in the second round against Nathan Aspinall.
