Gerwyn Price has emphatically emerged as the major title favorite at the

His German opponent took an 0-2 lead early in the match, but then Price's engine started to rev up. With a 10-darter and a 13-darter, the deficit was quickly cleared before the Welshman took the lead with a 14-darter.
Pietreczko then managed to make it 3-3, but then had to pass after another pace change from Price. The former world champion hit 121 to make it 4-3 with a 12-darter. Two more 12-darters followed to make the final score 6-3.
Ross Smith then became the last quarterfinalist in Riesa, making 'Smudger' Price's next opponent. Smith won 6-4 over Cameron Menzies in the third round after the Englishman made up a 2-4 deficit earlier in the match.
