Is there any correlation between quicker players and better performance as Premier League Darts stars analysed

PDC statistician Christopher Kempf has conducted an analysis of how throwing speed affects the performance of Premier League Darts participants.

The link between speed and performance is often discussed, but without hard evidence to support claims about whether or not a particular player benefits from a faster game speed, any debate so far has been a matter of conjecture.

Therefore, Kempf conducted an analysis of Premier League participants. It remains that Michael Smith throws his three darts to the board the fastest and that it also has little impact on his performance whether he takes a little more time or whether he has a slower opponent.

Peter Wright is by far the slowest of the eight contestants, and again it has little effect on his performance whether he throws even slower or whether he has a slower opponent.

Van den Bergh

The biggest difference is seen with Dimitri Van Den Bergh. When he takes more time for himself he scores less well, but when he is forced by a slower player to take more time he actually scores better.
