Michael van Gerwen made an excellent start to the Bahrain Darts Masters. 'Mighty Mike' defeated Hasan Haji 6-0 in the opening round.
Van Gerwen achieved an average of a whopping 106.09 in a dominant performance, over 40 points more than the average of his opponent!
"My darts were going well and overall I can't complain - to win 6-0 with a 106 average is always how you want to start a tournament," reflected the 34-year-old Dutchman in his post-match interview with the PDC.
"I've never won this event and I quite like this trophy," Van Gerwen continued. "So I want to win tomorrow!"
Van Gerwen will take on Rob Cross in the quarterfinals.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
