Luke Humphries has rounded off the semi-final line-up at the 2024
Players Championship Finals seeing off Ryan Joyce comfortably with Dirk van Duijvenbode now awaiting.
The defending champion could yet face a final tie tonight against Luke Littler which he called blockbuster and what the fans want to see and they could yet get it. But after a 10-5 win, he is certainly showing that he isn't going to lose his Minehead title without a fight.
It was a business like start from the World Champion as he reeled off three consecutive legs to lead Joyce 4-1 at the opening interval. He left 82 with Joyce sat on 71 and pounced for the lead in the best of 19.
Joyce was hanging on in there but only just as he found double eight to trail by four at the second interval but was still 7-3 down and rapidly heading out of the tournament.
He made it 8-4 but still couldn't gain a foothold on the Humphries throw as he missed darts to break and he went one away. Joyce held one more time for 9-5 with an 84 checkout for a 14-darter.
But Humphries sealed the deal with a 13-darter pinning double six with Joyce way back on a finish but one of 137.
