Nicholson claims consecutive wins with victory over Portela, Huckvale and Hubbard claim first wins

The action continues on the first day of the third week of the MODUS Icons of Darts League with another victory for Paul Nicholson and first wins for Adam Huckvale and James Hubbard.

Hubbard, who is making his debut in the MODUS events this week did similar to Diogo Portela did in his victory by coming from 4-1 down to claim a victory in a decider as Andy Jenkins lost out in the end to the former World Youth Champion.

Nicholson saw off Jenkins to begin the days proceedings and he made it two wins from two by seeing off Diogo Portela 5-2 in order to top the group. 'The Asset' showed good form last week claiming multiple group wins but could he claim the full week this time around.

Huckvale made sure it wasn't consecutive wins for Hubbard by seeing him off in a 5-3 win. 'Bad Medicine' should have defeated Portela but missed nine match darts but didn't have such issues against Hubbard hitting 5/14 on the doubles including a 130 checkout with a 86 average as he added his first points on the board.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
