In New Zealand, life is getting fully back to normal and the same can be said for the darts circuit with Warren Parry starting 2021 with three ranking finals and a title win.
"I'm quite happy with the darts at the moment. Chasing the dream with the PDC stuff and the World Darts Federation," said Parry to the Inside the WDF podcast.
Among those was the Canterbury Classic where he defeated Ben Robb who has been imperious at times in 2021.
"Yeah it was especially over Ben (Robb), he's one of my main rivals, him and Haupai (Puha)."
"He's got the game to go a fair way overseas, same with Haupai. They're only young fellas so they've got a few years left in them yet. That's probably the reason I'm still playing because I'm trying to keep them on their toes."
Parry is usually a regular feature of the World Series and competed in the very first one back in 2013 and discussed how that was and the effect it has had on young players.
"It was huge. Especially playing over in Australia, the support we had as a New Zealand team were over there playing Australia at the time and we just played in the Sydney Masters after that. We had heaps of support over there, it was good."
"Since they've been broadcast on TV, a lot more young players have picked up darts that probably would have never have played. The chance to rub shoulders and play against one of the fellas they only see on TV is huge."
One of the biggest moments came in 2014 when he defeated Michael van Gerwen in the Sydney Masters and he described the fanfare around that.
"I managed to stick in there and put the pressure on at the end and come through with the win. It was well received back here in New Zealand, the media attention I got was unbelievable."
"I was just hoping to get a leg, one leg would be nice. We had no sleep being a different time zone over there, phones were ringing at 4 in the morning for interviews. The media attention was good, I was actually on the news over here in New Zealand."
